Jim Gabal is a graduate of the Academy of Sober Coaching and has coached many individuals, assisting them in maintaining their sobriety and helping them live more wholesome and productive lives. He joined The Lighthouse team in 2018.
As a recovery coach for The Recovery Coaching 365 Program one of his responsibilities is to assist residents in searching and securing volunteer opportunities and employment. Before joining The Lighthouse, he served as Program Coordinator at the Westport House, a sober living facility for young men.
Before his present work in alcohol and substance use treatment, he spent more than twenty years in the media and marketing fields, specializing in launching new businesses. He completed alcohol and drug addiction treatment at the Betty Ford/Hazelden Center in Palm Desert, CA. Jim has amassed more than twenty-seven years of continuous sobriety.
He is a native Oklahoman and a graduate of the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Arts from the School of Journalism. He and his family reside in Westport, CT. He is very active in Alcoholics Anonymous and serves as a sponsor of several men.
